I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream--or cheese, or butter, or even yogurt. Come visit Wagner Farm's milking parlor to participate in a milking demonstration and explore the many ways people have been using dairy throughout time. Participants will learn how milk is taken from the cow to the table and make their own ice cream to enjoy. NOTE: Only paying participants may take part in the program. Children under 7 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Too cold to go outside? Take a break from hunkering down at home to learn some fun and inventive cooking projects to get you through the winter. All skill levels are welcome as we hone our culinary skills. This is a four-part series with each class focusing on a specific food/beverage.

Section B - Do It Yourself Dehydration, Saturday January 28
How can you preserve all of those delicious veggies from the past summer and fall? Local chef, Jill Houk will demonstrate all things dehydrating and fermenting-from herbs and jerky to sauerkraut and kimchi.

Section C - Cheesemaking 101, Saturday January 21
Discover more dairy fun at Wagner Farm! Come learn the art of making cheese in this lively and interactive cooking class. Participants will learn to make a sample cheese to enjoy. Cheese making tips and recipes will be shared as well.

Section D - The Master Homebrewer, Saturday February 4
Looking for a new hobby? Come out and learn from the pros at Ten Ninety Brewing Co. in Glenview during this informative and fun class. Topics include brewing grains and ingredients, equipment, varieties of beer, and how to get started at home.
Note: As an extra bonus, head over to Ten Ninety after class where you can enjoy a special beer tasting from the experts for $12/person. Participants must provide own transportation.

Section E - Savory Sausage from Scratch, Saturday February 11
Join the chefs from Hofherrr Meat Co. in Northfield for a hands on cooking class and learn about making varieties of sausage. Equipment, types of meat, and other sausage related topics will be discussed. Students eat and enjoy what they cook!

The garden is planted and spring is blooming. Come to the farm and learn how you can get a green thumb. Preschoolers and an adult will learn the art of gardening during this hands-on educational and fun two week program. Participants will tend to the spring garden, learn about the different plants and flowers that grow on a farm and take part in arts and crafts activities. 309318 - Community Garden Plot

Come out this summer and Garden at Wagner Farm! Participants will receive a 9' x 23' plot of land to grow all kinds of flowers, vegetables, and herbs. Gardeners must provide their own seeds and transplants and are in charge of maintaining their plot throughout the season. This is a lottery program-getting on the lottery list does not guarantee you an assigned garden plot! Resident lottery registration starts on Thurs., Feb. 23 at 9 am and continues through Sun., March 5. Once all lottery registrations have been processed, our computer system runs an electronic random draw and enrollment confirmations are emailed to all households participating in the lottery with informational meeting dates. Registration for nonresidents and those residents who missed the lottery for any remaining garden spaces begins at 9 am on Mon., March 6 on a first-come, first-served basis.

ONE PLOT PER FAMILY/HOUSEHOLD
Organizational meetings will take place on Tuesday March 14 at 7 pm and Saturday March 18 at 9 am. These meetings are for those who have received a plot only, not for those on the waitlist. At the meeting you will receive your plot assignment and learn more about the garden program.
