I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream--or cheese, or butter, or even yogurt. Come visit Wagner Farm's milking parlor to participate in a milking demonstration and explore the many ways people have been using dairy throughout time. Participants will learn how milk is taken from the cow to the table and make their own ice cream to enjoy. NOTE: Only paying participants may take part in the program. Children under 7 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

305223 - Cook and Craft Spring Break Program

We'll be cooking and crafting up lots of fun during spring break! Each day will feature a different cooking or animal craft activity. Sign up for all 4 classes and receive a 10% discount. You can also register for classes individually. Registration fee is per child, all children under 7 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
Class 1: Crafty Cows: watch a cow milking demonstration and create a fun cow craft to take home.
Class 2: Egg-pert Chefs: discover how many delicious dishes you can make from eggs-hatched by the Farm's very own hens.
Class 3: A Flock of Feathers: meet a chicken and take part in a cluck-tastic craft activity.
Class 4: Plant a Pizza: how many pizza ingredients come from a farm? You'll find out as you make your own to enjoy.

The garden is planted and spring is blooming. Come to the farm and learn how you can get a green thumb. Preschoolers and an adult will learn the art of gardening during this hands-on educational and fun two week program. Participants will tend to the spring garden, learn about the different plants and flowers that grow on a farm and take part in arts and crafts activities. Note: This class is for a child accompanied by an adult and fee listed is per adult-child pair. Register for this adult-child class using child's name.

Draft horses were a vital means of power on farms until the advent of the tractor. These gentle giants did tasks from plowing and field work to transporting the farm and his family into town on a Saturday night. Learn the differences between hames and hands, bits and brichen. You'll also learn grooming, harnessing and driving Wagner farm's own team of draft horses.

309318 - Community Garden Plot

Come out this summer and Garden at Wagner Farm! Participants will receive a 9' x 23' plot of land to grow all kinds of flowers, vegetables, and herbs. Gardeners must provide their own seeds and transplants and are in charge of maintaining their plot throughout the season. This is a lottery program-getting on the lottery list does not guarantee you an assigned garden plot! Resident lottery registration starts on Thurs., Feb. 21 at 9 am and continues through Sun., March 3. Once all lottery registrations have been processed, our computer system runs an electronic random draw and enrollment confirmations are emailed to all households participating in the lottery with informational meeting dates. Registration for nonresidents and those residents who missed the lottery for any remaining garden spaces begins at 9 am on Mon., March 4 on a first-come, first-served basis.

Available Garden Plots: 100
ONE PLOT PER FAMILY/HOUSEHOLD
Organizational meetings will take place on Tuesday March 19 at 7 pm and Saturday March 23 at 9 am. These meetings are for those who have received a plot only, not for those on the waitlist. At the meeting you will receive your plot assignment, learn more about the garden program and meet fellow community gardeners.
